All you need to know if you are applying for a Turkey visa from India

Many people dream of riding a hot air balloon to view the dawn in the famed city of Cappadocia or swimming in the crystal-clear seas of Antalya. Of course, you must sample their world-famous Kebab! Turkey is still a popular tourist destination, maybe even more so than previously. Since last year, the number of international tourists visiting Turkey has increased significantly. It's easy to see why it's becoming one of the world's most popular places, with the right blend of wonderful food, colorful culture, and friendly residents. Whatever your purpose for visiting this wonderful land where East and West collide, you'll need a Turkey visa. We will guide you through the procedure if you apply for a Turkey visa from India.

A Turkey Visa allows you to go to Turkey and remain for a specific amount of time. It allows you to participate in various activities, including studying and working, depending on the kind. Some types of Turkey visas allow you to apply for a Turkish resident permit and remain in Turkey for at least a year. Only nationals of nations having excellent diplomatic ties with Turkey are exempt. You will need to complete various steps to apply for a visa to enter Turkey. Make sure you finish all of them correctly and in the correct sequence.

 Types of Turkey Visa

Tourist Visa

Indians can apply for a tourist visa to Turkey online. It is the best alternative for Indians travelling to Turkey for vacation or business. Tourist visas are only valid for 90 days, and if you buy a Turkey tourist visa at the border, you will not be able to re-enter the country without obtaining a new one.

Business Visa

Third-country nationals seeking to visit Turkey only for business are issued a business visa. A business visa allows the holder to participate in conferences, business meetings, and other commercial activities. However, the overall length of your stay will be limited to certain times that correspond to the dates on your issued visa. It functions similarly to a tourist visa in that it is valid for 90 days. However, you must provide proof of business in Turkey to apply for this visa.

Student Visa

After enrolling at a Turkish university or institution, you can apply for a Student Visa. A letter from the university or institution where you are enrolled is essential. To receive a residency permit in Turkey, you must register with the Foreigner's Branch of your local police department within 30 days of your arrival. Foreigners seeking to visit Turkey for study or training, including short-term language courses, may be granted short-term student or work visas. As a result, the potential business or educational institution situated in Turkey should offer an official invitation letter detailing the specific dates of the enrolled program.

Type D (Long-term Stay) Visa

The applicant is granted permission to enter the Republic of Turkey for more than 90 days with a long-term visa. Students from other countries who intend to study in Turkey must apply for student visas. The study visa application must be filed through the Consulate, and a letter of acceptance. To get a work visa or a work permit to stay in Turkey for an extended time, applicants must apply through diplomatic missions. A letter of employment should be sent to the Turkish Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) for approval and the other paperwork. Please be advised that foreigners planning to work or study in Turkey for an extended period must register with the local police departments as soon as they arrive.

Photo requirements for Turkey Visa

If a traveller is unaware of the key conditions for acquiring a legal travel permit, they may encounter difficulties. It is critical to fulfilling the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs' picture standards. Your application will be delayed or denied if you do not include a photo that fulfils the required standards. Not only would this lengthen the application process, but it will also add unneeded fees.

You must submit a photo that meets the following requirements:

 β†’ 50mm x 50mm in size.

β†’ Color images are the only ones that will be accepted. Images that are black and white, fuzzy, or have extra filters should be avoided.

β†’ Head Size and Position: The head should be squared off to the camera and measure roughly 20-30mm in length.

β†’ The photo must be recent and taken within the last six months to reflect the applicant's current appearance.

β†’ Background: Plain white as a background

β†’ Smile: Keep your facial expressions neutral.

β†’ Eyes: Fully open eyes with nothing in front of them.

β†’ Spectacles: Glasses are permitted only provided they do not block or obscure vision.

β†’ Headgear: Headgear is only permitted if it is worn for religious reasons.

β†’ Dressing: There are no particular guidelines for how a person should dress. On the other hand, white apparel should be avoided since it will blend in with the white background.

β†’ Beard: There isn't any information on it. 1 photo is required in the application.

Photo Rules, Guidelines, and Requirements:

Before taking photos or applying for a visa, it's critical to understand all visa/passport picture regulations. To acquire a visa or renew your passport successfully, you must follow the government's procedures. Check out the list of instructions to make sure you obtain the correct Turkey visa photo size, and the perfect shot.

β†’ Turkey does not allow photographs in black and white. As a result, you must submit a photograph in natural light.

β†’ Your head should be 20-30mm in diameter, with a 5mm space between the top and bottom of the image.

β†’ A crucial criterion for the image is that it be current. You cannot upload images that are more than a year old and do not accurately depict your current appearance.

β†’ Wearing distracting accessories like a hat or hairpiece is not a good idea. The Turkish government does not approve of such images.

β†’ While wearing headgear, the face and ears should be readily visible.

β†’ Sunglasses should be avoided at all costs. Spectacles are permitted if just the eyes are visible. Wearing glasses with coloured lenses or thick frames is not a good idea. Any glare or reflection on the glasses should be avoided because it will distort the picture. If any of these prerequisites aren't satisfied, remove your spectacles before shooting the image.

Digital alterations, particularly photoshopping, are not permissible. You must retake the shot if there is a red-eye.

β†’ If you have a scar or a mole on your face, don't use photoshop to erase it.

β†’ In your Visa/Passport photo, keep your facial expressions neutral. When snapping the snapshot, keep your mouth shut and remain calm. Smiling distorts your facial characteristics, making face recognition software harder to validate your identity.

β†’ A pure white backdrop is required. A backdrop that is printed, patterned, or coloured is not appropriate.

β†’ Wearing white apparel will make you blend in with the setting. Also, no military or law enforcement uniforms are permitted. Only religious uniforms are permitted if they are required.
